The Pasco County project to connect SR 56 and Mansfield and Meadow Pointe boulevards in Wesley Chapel has been pushed back a second time to as late as August 1. The connection was originally set to open in March, but the construction company, WDG Construction Inc., had its contract terminated by the county after its vehicle and workers insurance expired, according to Pasco’s chief engineer Jim Widman.

Pasco County plans to resurface County Line Road (CLR) from Bruce B. Downs to Brooksbend (Woodlands and Springs Villages) in the very near future (while school is out). This is the section of CLR not done when they widened the road several years ago.

Bruce B. Downs Blvd is being widened between 56 and 600 feet south of 54. Starting March, 2009 with anticipated completion date of June, 2010.

A Fifth CDD for Meadow Pointe. Meadow Pointe 5 CDD will be created for the area where SR56 intersects Meadow Pointe Blvd. This CDD will include more than 940,000 square feet of commercial space and nearly 400,000 square feet of office space. *SR 56 will be six-lanes wide from SR 581 to the Shops at Wiregrass and will then be four-lanes wide east to Meadow Pointe Boulevard.

*Long-range plans call for SR 56 to connect with US 301 south of Zephyrhills.
